Jean-Baptiste Robin (born in 1976) studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris where he received seven Premier Prix diplomas (organ, harmony, counterpoint, 16th Century composition, 20th century composition, orchestration, Basso continuo) and two postgraduate diplomas with honours, in theory and in organ performance.
He studied orchestration with Marc-Andre DALBAVIE in Conservatoire de Paris and composition with George BENJAMIN at King's College, London. He also studied organ with Marie-Claire ALAIN (two years in the CRR Superieur of Paris) and Olivier LATRY.
Jean-Baptiste Robin is the composer of some twenty pieces ranging from solo instrument to large symphony orchestra, and was a prize-winner of the Lagardere Foundation, Institut des Beaux-Arts and the George Enesco prize from SACEM.
In 2005 he composed Emergences, a large vocal piece for the Maîtrise of Radio france.
In 2006 he composed Reflected Faces for members of the London Philharmonia Orchestra for the serie Music of Today in the Royal Festival Hall.
In 2007 he theorized his Reflecting modes and chords ("Modes et accords sous-chromatiques, nouvelles ressources de la gamme chromatiques", Paris, 2006, unpublished).
In 2008, his cycle Cercles réfléchissants for organ was performed all around the world and recorded by Naxos.
In 2010, his works Distances for chamber orchestra, commissioned from the Ensemble intercontemporain, was first performed in Salle Pleyel (Paris) by the EIC and conducted by Pierre BOULEZ for his 85th birthday.

Jean-Baptiste ROBIN was awarded the François Prize in Roubaix, and won the Composition Competition of the City of Nice, the Grand Prix of the City of Bordeaux and the Audience Prize at the Dom Bedos Composition Competition.
His works are published by Gérard Billaudot Editeur.
Jean-Baptiste ROBIN is also organist at the Royal Chapel in the Palace of Versailles. He has given recitals at numerous countries in Europe, in USA (in 20 states) and in Japan. His recordings have been hailed by the specialied press and awarded highest distinctions in France (Golden Diapason of the Year, Choc by the Monde de la Musique, Recommandé by Classica and Répertoire, Charles Cros Academy).
Jean-Baptiste ROBIN is professor of composition at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional in Versailles.
